We start the touring year with an inexpensive long weekend in France. This will suit riders who wish to experience riding on the Continent for the first time as well as the experienced biker looking for an early season weekend ride out. Mileages will be easily manageable and well capable of modern day scooters.
The tour starts in Dover on one of the new SeaFrance ferries. These new boats enjoy the luxury of special tie down arrangements so that no harm becomes to our bikes during the crossing. Once on French soil we ride on a combination of country roads and national roads with a quick stretch of autoroute thrown in to quicken the pace.
We are using a well-tried and tested hotel in the pleasant town of Dinant, the town in which Adolphe Sax was born. The hotel has good parking and the spacious rooms overlook the River Meuse. There will be planned ride-outs for those who wish to do extra mileage and explore the Belgium Ardennes. For the less energetic boat cruises along the river are a pleasant way of spending an afternoon. Or if you prefer Dinant has a splendid Citadelle to explore and for your evening meals there is a range of restaurants to suit every taste.
MSLTours Two + Two

After a pleasant country ride the next day our tour moves to Reims where we enjoy a comfortable city centre hotel where the nightlife hums with activity. Our guides will advise you on the best restaurants and bars to choose for your evening meals. How can you come to the Champagne region of France without a taste of that golden nectar? We have therefore arranged a visit to one of the principle Champagne Houses with an English speaking guide and who knows we may even have a free tasting.
Our journey back to the port will be a gentle ride through French countryside to experience more of the pleasures of riding the quiet ‘D’ roads.
