 This is a tour, which sees an extension of our 2 + 2 tour. Its inexpensive but will provide the rider who wants to just push his limits and experience a little further. We are using a well-tried and tested hotel in the pleasant town of Dinant, the town in which Adolphe Sax was born in 1814 and each year the town enjoys 1000 saxophones playing together on Adolphe’s birthday, but unfortunately not during the time of our visit. The hotel has good parking and the spacious rooms overlook the River Meuse. There will be planned ride-outs for those who wish to do extra mileage and explore the Belgium Ardennes. For the less energetic boat cruises along the river are a pleasant way of spending an afternoon. Or if you prefer Dinant has a splendid Citadelle to explore and for your evening meals there is a range of restaurants to suit every taste. The following day the tour moves into Germany and along the exciting roads of Rhineland, through the Eifel Mountains to Koblenz. During the free day there will be an optional ride out to the historic Nurburgring. You can test your skills around this awesome track but be warned the experience is not for the faint hearted. Alternatively you can just relax in the surroundings of our hotel and enjoy the fascinating river activity at the meeting point of the massive Rhine and Moselle rivers. A short walk from the hotel cafes and bars that cater for every taste and a great way to relax after an exhilarating day around the twists and turns of the Eifel Mountains. After a pleasant country ride the next day our tour moves to Reims where we enjoy a comfortable city centre hotel where the nightlife hums with activity. Our guides will advise you on the best restaurants and bars to choose for your evening meals. How can you come to the Champagne region of France without a taste of that golden nectar? We have therefore arranged a visit to one of the principle Champagne Houses with an English-speaking guide and who knows we may even have a free tasting. |
