Following on from last years successful Moto Piston Rally we have taken note of comments from the participants and decided extend the tour in order to soak up more of that wonderful countryside in and around the Picos de Europa.
   The tour will start with the rallyists on the Plymouth Santander ferry and on arrival join the rally to enjoy the passions of enthusiasts which have flocked to this part of Spain for the past twenty one years.
   Our accommodation here is in a tried and tested three star hotel where we enjoy views of Atlantic rollers breaking on the white sandy beaches. After three days of rally activity the tour will ride further into Spain taking our suggested route to our three stars Parador. This is a restored 16th century convent but don’t worry the nuns left years ago, although some walk the corridors during the night. This Parador has been nominated as a school Parador where students under the guidance of the Directors and Managers of Paradors will serve us and promote the ‘Excellence of the Paradors’ philosophy. On the free days you will be free to construct your own itinerary or just simply enjoy the atmosphere of this superb Parador.
   Next the show moves towards the Portugese border to a 12th century castle Parador where we spend another two nights amongst solid stonewalls and regal surroundings.

On route we will have time to stop a while to visit the famous fortress at Penafiel sitting in its lofty position high above the banks of the river Duero. This too was a welcome stop for medieval pilgrims on their way to worship at Santiago de Compostela. Once at the Parador we enjoy dream-like bedrooms, elegant gardens and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Evenings are an experience as we eat mouth watering regional cuisine and drink local wine.
Finally we travel back to Santander for the return crossing to Plymouth.
