The story behind Corsica cannot be told it needs to be seen to be believed. In the six days we try to open out its inner most secrets. We travel through it, down the windy roads, along footpaths, drink the local wine and make a stop at one of the high plateaux for a better view.
During the tour we will show you two faces of this magical mountain in the sea. Our hotel locations are both at sea level, one in the North of the island the other in the South.
After three days in the north we experience the natural fragrance of thyme, rosemary, lavender and pine of the Corsican countryside as we move to our southern location. Here the blue Mediterranean washes the white sandy shore of the hotels own private beach secluded in a rocky cove.
Evenings are spent in the town where there is a wide choice of restaurants and bars in which you can enjoy the open-air meals and watch the sun set behind the mountains.
For the more active there is plenty of time to explore Napoleons Island. Historians can visit the Emperors birthplace in Ajaccio and ride through the forests of tall straight pines which Nelson fought so hard to capture for the masts of his ships and lost an eye in the process.
Away from the towns the countryside is wild and rugged, nature in the raw. If you want exciting roads and isolation then this is the place to be. You can experience roads that will take you from sea level to 900m in 24kms, incredible and hardly a straight road anywhere.
