We start the touring year with an inexpensive long weekend in Belgium and France. Because of the low mileages this will suit riders who wish to experience riding on the Continent for the first time. Mileages will be easily manageable and well capable of modern day maxi scooters.
Our first stop will be at a well tried and tested hotel in the pleasant town of Dinant in Belgium. The hotel has good parking facilities and the spacious rooms overlook the River Meuse.
There will be planned ride-outs for those who wish to cover extra mileage and explore the Belgium Ardennes, Bouillon and neighbouring villages. Or if you prefer Dinant has a splendid Citadelle to explore and for your evening meals there is a range of restaurants to suit every taste.
After a pleasant country ride the second stage of this opening 2 + 2 tour moves closer to home where we enjoy a comfortable city centre hotel where the night life hums with activity. Our guides are there to advise you on the best restaurants and bars to choose for your evening meals.
How can you come to the Champagne region without a taste of that golden nectarwe have therefore included in the tour two visits. The first to one of the principle Champagne Houses with an English speaking guide and a free tasting and the second to a small private cellar where we will meet the producer and a taste of his special wine.
Our journey back to the port will be a gentle ride through the French countryside to experience more of the pleasure of riding on the quiet D roads.
