As usual the tour leads off from Calais and is routed through the French/Belgium countryside via a brief section on the autoroute to get things moving.
In previous years we have made tours to the Belgium Ardennes with a specific theme but this year we aim to run the tour as a general interest weekend. From past experiences we have found that we can provide better value and after a day exploring the Ardennes the convenience of taking a refreshing beer a shower and sitting down to a superb meal in a homely atmosphere is greatly appreciated.
Our base for the three nights is country hotel set in woodlands with wonderful relaxing views.
Here we sample everything that's home made by the lady of the house. The chef is madam's husband and his reputation relies on each meal being prepared with flare and quality and being Belgium the beer is good as well.
Set in the centre of the wonderful Ardennes the hotel is perfectly located for a wide range of ride outs. This is the area in which the Battle of the Bulge took place in WW2 and there are many museums and memorials to visit. If numbers warrant a guide we can employ a guide for the day to explain the circumstances of the battle and in particular the English involvement. For 'petrol heads' the Formula 1 circuit at Spa is just down the road and the charming town of Bouillon with its wonderful castle overlooking the town and River Meuse is another suggested ride out where bikers are welcome.
