Austria & a little bit more…

As usual the tour leads off from Calais and assembles again at our first hotel in Nancy. For this leg of the tour we have left the route to you to decide, either autoroute or the more pleasant country route. The next stage will be on Austria's mountain roads passing Lake Constance en route. Our hotel in the high mountains at an altitude of 4500ft will have you gasping at the fantastic views. We have used the family run hotel many times before and have never failed to satisfy.
After two nights in the high mountains the tour crosses the Arlberg Massif which until recently was an isolated part of the Austria mountains to our next Austrian hotel at the foot of the Glossglockner Mountain, Austria's highest at 10500ft.. During the two days here we ride the awesome Grossglockner Mountain highway with its 39 numbered hairpin bends and there is chance to visit the Franz-Josef-Hohe and the breath-taking Pasterze Glacier, amazing.
We move from Austria for a 'little bit more' in Slovenia and into familiar surroundings in Kranjska Gora and once again free of luggage you can construct your own itinerary to nearby high spots. Bled is not far away and the capital Ljubljana only 50 miles on empty roads. And if all that sounds too touristy try the road through the Triglav national Park with its 50 numbered hairpins, all cobbled.
After another night together in Austria, close to Lake Konstanz we finally say our goodbyes in France where we reflect on the past few riding and experiences.
