There is hardly a better motorcycle country than Germany it is one of the most welcoming countries to bikers.
We start and finish in France of course where enjoy endless empty roads and where car drivers pull over to let you pass.
Our route into Germany is via Luxembourg and Trier, along the Mosel to Koblenz. Here two mighty rivers, Rhein and Mosel merge and we enjoy the festive atmosphere of river side beer gardens.
Leaving Koblenz we follow the working Rhein down to Baden Baden joining the famous road 500. This is an amazing road through the Black Forest, where in one day you will overdose on scenery. It has to be ridden to be believed possessing every type of bend in the book; it's a different world, a biker's paradise. At the end of the day you will appreciate the calming location of our hotel to recover.
Our base here for three nights has a lake side outlook and with the bikes safely parked you are free to do the tourist thing or make use of our prepared ride out suggestions but I bet you will want to ride the 500 again without luggage this time! In the region is Feldberg the highest mountain in the Black Forest and for those with an interest in history there is the Zeppelin Museum at Friedrichshaften but for those with a more specialised interest the only WW2 German concentration camp in Western Europe is close by at Natzwiller.
We return to Reims the Champagne capital of France to enjoy our final meal together before our return to UK.
