Corsica Again – A tour for experienced and resourceful riders
Tour Dates: 6th - 16th September
• Accompanied by Peter and Gloria
• Dates correct at time of going to press
• Three exciting locations in Corsica
• Demanding roads
The Mediterranean island of Corsica has long been a destination on many red blooded bikers wish list and here we give you the opportunity to make those dreams come true.
During the tour we will show you several faces of this magical mountain in the sea. Our hotels are at sea level and in the mountains where we experience the natural fragrance of thyme, rosemary, lavender and pine (maquis) as we move from south to north. We travel through it, down windy roads, along footpaths, drink local wine from the vineyards of Patrimonio.
Away from the towns the countryside is wild and rugged, nature in the raw. For the more active riders wanting exciting roads and isolated countryside then this is the place. You can experience roads that will take you from sea level to 900m in 24kms – incredible. It is difficult to find a straight road anywhere.
Apart from the mountain location, when we eat typically Corsican menus of wonderful mouth-watering experiences; fresh trout caught from the local river, wild boar hunted in the surrounding forests; evenings are spent in towns where there is a wide choice of restaurants and bars in which to enjoy open air meals and watch the sun set behind the mountain back drop.
For historians the island is packed with interest. Napoleon was born there and Nelson fought over it losing an eye in the process.
This will be my seventh visit to Corsica I love it and I am sure you will too.
