Southern France - Millau Viaduct, Gorges de l'Ardeche et du Verdon
Experience some of the best scenery and technical riding routes in Europe!
The Tour starts at Dover where we will meet for introductions and the briefing before catching our ferry to Calais. Once in France we will make quick progress to our three * overnight hotel in Dijon.
Day two will see us move from the AutoRoute after Lyon onto the amazing N88 as we skirt the north of the Parc national des Cévennes and meet the A75 during our ride south to ride over the Millau Viaduct. We’ll stay here for two nights half board in our three * independent hotel in Millau, the perfect opportunity to explore the Gorges de l’Ardeche and the Tarn riding on some of the most incredible, twisty, scenic, panoramic roads in France! We’ll be sure to take another ride over the viaduct, and further south along the A75 or ‘La Méridienne’ as we head towards our next destination!
Day four is a ride east to Gap the largest town in the Hautes-Alpes department. Spending three nights at our three* bike friendly B&B hotel means we are well paced to enjoy the incredible Gorges du Verdon. This river canyon, considered the most beautiful in Europe, over 30 km’s long and up to 700 meters deep is just a short ride south from our location. With breath-taking scenery and some incredible roads, expect some challenging and technical ride outs during our stay!
Day seven is time to make our return north to Dijon, to re-visit our three * B&B overnight hotel. A further stop in Reims on day eight at our three * half board accommodation means an additional night to break up our journey back to the coast. Finally day nine is a comfortable 200 mile ride back to the port of Calais for a late afternoon crossing to Dover.
