Easter in Belgium and Luxembourg
The French and Belgium borderlands of the Ardennes and onwards into Luxembourg
The Tour starts at Dover where we will meet for introductions and the briefing before catching our ferry to Calais. We’ll head towards our very comfortable B&B overnight hotel in Charleroi, Belgium, taking a leisurely, scenic route with the opportunity to ride through two regional parks along the border; the Scarpe-Escaut and the l’Avesnois. Or if you prefer take a more direct route to arrive earlier at the hotel!
Day two will see us follow a part of La Route des Légendes along the Meuse and Semois rivers through the Belgium and French Ardennes into Luxembourg. Our three * B&B hotel for the next two nights is situated in Diekirch close to the river Sûre in the north -east of Luxembourg. Close to the Mullerthal or ‘Little Switzerland’ region, we will be well placed to experience some fabulous ride outs during our stay!
Day four is a scenic ride back into Belgium where we will make our way to our last two nights B&B hotel accommodation close to the picturesque citadel city of Dinant in the Haute-Meuse Valley. Here our superior hotel with swimming pool is a former châteaux situated in over 25 hectares of woodland, with all rooms having a view of the grounds. It’s the perfect place to relax and maybe take the time to visit Dinant on the banks of the Meuse River.
We’ll plan some ride outs on more of the twisty and scenic routes around the Ardennes where you can visit the historic towns of La Roche-en-Ardenne, Malmedy and Bastogne, with its poignant WWII war museum.
Day six will see our group ride back to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to Dover. Again you may want to head back more directly from Dinant or wind your way back through the more twisty roads running along the scenic border with France, taking a more leisurely pace, the choice is yours!
